Thermostatic Mixing Valve (TMV) is referred to as the valves that are designed to regulate the water temperature by mixing hot and cold water in order to prevent scalding. It is alternatively known as anti-scald valves. Owing to higher accuracy and safety, these valves are extensively used across the household, schools, nursing homes, hospitals, laboratories, and other commercial and industrial places.
 
Structurally, it encompasses the valve body with two distinct fluid inlets and a mixed fluid outlet. The valve body includes a thermostatic mixing element/sensor, piston, and return spring. The element/sensor is a crucial component, which has a thermal sensitive mechanism that continuously monitors and controls the flow of water (hot & cold) through the inlets. Also, it enables automatic shutting down of the system, in case of water supply failure, to offer prevention from scalding or thermal shock. The hot and cold water is allowed to enter the valve and is blend by the valve to attain the pre-selected temperature. It also ensures that the temperature remains constant for a longer duration despite varying pressure conditions.
