A lead acid battery refers to a secondary cell that is rechargeable. Its applications are generally used for cars and trucks. The batteries are made up of plates of lead and lead(IV) oxide in a sulfuric acid solution, wherein lead(IV) oxide oxidizes the lead plate, thereby producing an electric current. Lead-acid batteries are of different types counting valve-regulated maintenance-free vented designs lead–acid batteries. These types of batteries are widely deployed due to their low cost and relatively long-term life.
