An industry can only advance when the involved stakeholders invest needed resources for exploration. Like all other sectors, the statement is also true for the Green Packaging industry as well. It is necessary that market players continuously explore alternative materials and innovative concepts for creating packaging designs. One of the ways to achieve this is through strategic partnerships between key market players and scaling innovation.
In this regard, new technology has been developed to bring back packaging through wood pulp. "Pulpex" is a first-of-its-kind technology that can create bottles through the wood pulp. The input material used by the system has been assured to be FSC-approved renewable feedstocks obtained through responsibly managed forests. The new type of paper bottle could significantly contribute to Green Packaging Market as it is designed to be completely recyclable through average waste streams.
Recently, Estée Lauder Companies has announced that they have entered into a partnership with Pulpex partner consortium and would now work towards adopting their packaging method for the beauty products. This is the first time a cosmetic company has become part of the consortium to develop recyclable paper bottles comprising of responsibly sourced Pulp.
The company is looking forward to scaling the Pulpex paper bottling technology throughout its product portfolio. Other companies that have already taken the initiative include GSK Consumer Healthcare, Diageo, Castrol, Unilever and PepsiCo. Unilever has also started creating the world's first paper-based laundry detergent bottle by taking the green packaging applications to new heights.
Partnerships within industries for the overall progress of the sector also help in driving beneficial impacts. Collaboration is critical if the Pulpex consortium has any chance of achieving its ambition. The arrangement is incredible if looked at the vantage point of the world economy as it would lead to the emergence of cost-effective solutions for respective brands while being a better choice for consumers.
Several studies and trends show that consumers are growing increasingly sensitive about threats against the world, such as climate change, deforestation, pollution etc. Further, they have started making lifestyle changes where they have started opting for greener products. Thus, it is vital that different industries quickly adopt the growing trend and make their products more environmentally friendly. This will help them attract their respective consumers while also helping them meet their sustainable development goals.
